Due to its altitude, Zimbabwe is comparatively temperate for a country in the tropics; humidity is also low. The rainy season occurs between November and March. But, with the exception of the eastern highlands, rainfall is erratic and drought is common. Annual rainfall ranges from 55 inches in the Eastern Highlands to 15 inches in the Limpopo Valley.
